About us
We’re an early‑stage startup on a mission to help schools simplify compliance and safeguarding through smarter technology. Our software streamlines Single Central Record (SCR) management — saving school administrators hours of manual work, reducing human error, and ensuring full compliance with Ofsted and safeguarding regulations.
With 80% of schools relying on manual, time‑intensive spreadsheets to manage their vetting records, School SCR is set to transform the sector and is already one of the most exciting back‑office solutions in the UK EdTech space. Receiving regular inbound enquiries and sales, School SCR already has schools across the country and in Europe.
We’re growing and partnering with Baltic Ventures to hire a driven, mission‑aligned Sales Development Representative (SDR). You’ll be one of the first hires in our commercial team, a key player in driving growth and shaping how we build relationships with schools nationwide.
School SCR’s mission is to become the standard compliance layer for all 32,000+ English schools, improving safety, transparency, and efficiency in education.
The role
As our Sales Development Representative, you’ll be the first point of contact for inbound and outbound leads. Your job is to connect with prospective customers, build rapport, and book online demos with our co‑founder.
You’ll work closely with the founders to generate leads, qualify prospects, and help move opportunities through our sales pipeline.
Responsibilities
* Call and qualify inbound leads (e.g., downloads, webinar attendees, contact forms)
* Make outbound calls to schools and MATs to introduce School SCR
* Manage the team demo booking pipeline and calendar
* Follow up via phone and email to keep leads warm
* Maintain and manage our CRM, ensuring accurate record keeping
* Collaborate with marketing to feed back on messaging and lead quality
About you
We’re looking for someone focused, organised, and confident picking up the phone. We are open to applicants from all backgrounds; however, experience in or understanding of the education sector is a bonus. Our ideal candidate has/is:
* 1–3 years of experience in a sales or business development role (preferably B2B SaaS or ed‑tech).
* Confident communicator — comfortable talking to school leaders and decision‑makers.
* Strong written communication skills for outreach emails and follow‑ups.
* Organised, proactive, and target‑driven with a genuine interest in education.
* Tech‑savvy and comfortable learning new tools quickly.
* A positive, resilient attitude — you thrive on learning from every “no” to get to the next “yes.”
* Confident in project management / CRM tools
Why join us?
* Be part of an early‑stage edtech startup with serious growth potential
* Commission for booked demos and successful sales
* Hybrid working arrangement
* The opportunity to work directly with the Founders and have a major influence on company growth.
