£50,000 – £60,000 Pro‑rate, DOE


Hours & Contract

37.5 hours per week, Monday‑Friday 8.30 am‑4.30 pm – Permanent (Term‑time only, or flexibility around full‑time contract can be discussed based on personal circumstances)

The Role

We are looking for a Lead Clinician to manage our in‑house Clinical Team at Claystone School based in Bedfordshire. The postholder will work collaboratively with both the school’s Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and the Regional Clinical Lead. The role will be split between clinically leading the team and holding a therapy caseload.

Key responsibilities include:

* Deliver bespoke assessment and intervention plans for students with complex profiles of need, including autism, neuro‑divergence, developmental trauma and SE EM H needs.
* Ensure meeting of EHCP plans – target‑led via the OFG “all”, “group” and “individual” clinical ways of working, embedded into practice.
* Coordinate line management of onsite clinical team members and lead the service development of the clinical school‑based service alongside the school SLT and Regional Clinical Lead.
* Maintain a person‑centred, empowering approach with pupils at the forefront of all work.
* Uphold a strong safeguarding culture; pupils are heard, respected and involved in decisions that affect them.


Location Details

Claystone School – Bedfordshire LU1 4LL – Part of our Options Autism brand. Independent specialist day school supporting children aged 4–11.


Essential Criteria

* BSc or MSc in Speech & Language Therapy or OT with registration as a SaLT with HCPC and RCSLT.
* Valid and up‑to‑date professional registration & membership of a professional body e.g. BPS.
* Experience working with autistic individuals and/or those with complex needs.
* Clear and concise report writing relating to clinical and research activities.
* Experience providing supervision and supporting a therapy team.
* Ability to work independently and dynamically within a growing and developing clinical service.
* Experience of multi‑professional work with teams or services within the designated specialty preferred.
