Community Paediatric Physiotherapist

We are looking for an enthusiastic Physiotherapist to join our friendly Children’s Therapy team in Worcestershire. The successful candidate will work alongside a dynamic team of Physiotherapists, Assistant Practitioners, Occupational Therapists and Specialist Play Nursery Nurses, providing a community service to children and young people with a variety of needs. The post holder will be based at one of our three bases (Kidderminster, Worcester or Redditch) and will be required to drive across the county on a regular basis. The service works closely with mainstream and special schools, the multi-disciplinary team and our local authority to ensure children’s needs are identified and supported across the system. It is an exciting time of service development as we move towards implementing the balanced system across therapy services. We offer a variety of opportunities for learning, CPD, multi-disciplinary working and a strong focus on supervision.
This is a full-time post, but we would consider applicants looking for part-time working from a minimum of 22.5 hours per week.
Main duties of the job
Take responsibility for managing children and young people with particular conditions and providing specialist assessments and treatment plans for children and young people with developmental delay / learning difficulties, neurological conditions and musculoskeletal injuries.
Develop individual treatment programmes using assessment, reasoning skills and treatment skills based on a sound knowledge of evidence-based practice and a range of treatment options.
Work closely with your multi-disciplinary and multi-agency colleagues to ensure an integrated approach to patient care, including health, social care and education colleagues.
Capture information detailing children’s needs, provision requirements and expected outcomes to inform their Education, Health and Care Plan.
Supervisor and support other members of the therapy service including assistant practitioners and students.
Have a good understanding of policies and legislation related to children, young people and families including safeguarding.
Be proficient in using electronic patient record systems and various IT systems.

Qualifications
* Diploma/degree in physiotherapy - MCSP.
* HCPC membership.
* Postgraduate course relevant to paediatrics.
* Provide original certificates to verify qualifications at point of offer.
Experience
* Minimum of 2 years postgraduate experience in a variety of specialties, including a minimum of 6 months in paediatric physiotherapy.
* Experience of supervision of junior staff or students.
* Experience of delegation to qualified and unqualified staff.
* Community experience for minimum of 3 months.
Skills & Abilities
* Ability to communicate verbally in a manner appropriate to a variety of parties, dealing with sensitive and complex information, and taking into account barriers to understanding.

* Able to travel efficiently to meet the needs of the job
* Able to carry out moderate to intense physical effort throughout the day
