Locum Consultant Neurosurgeon – Neuro Oncology
The University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust (UHCW) is looking for a Locum Consultant Neurosurgeon with an interest in Neuro Oncology.
Responsibilities
* Work with the Neurosurgical team to provide a comprehensive service to the Trust, commissioning groups and General Practitioners.
* Develop close collaborative links with clinicians in the specialty and work to develop services to the highest standards, including the development of treatment protocols and guidelines.
* Participate in the departmental audit programme and multidisciplinary audit relating to your area of clinical interest.
* Attend regular MDTs, clinical meetings and other postgraduate activities.
* Supervise trainees in the Department and assist in their training and appraisal. Teach and assess medical students from Warwick Medical School.
* Participate in the Trust Performance and Annual Review scheme and be responsible for ensuring you support the principles of revalidation by the General Medical Council.
* Be committed to and involved in clinical governance, risk management and clinical audit, including maintaining appropriate systems and practices for safe clinical practice.
* Participate in Departmental error reviews and support the Department and Trust clinical risk management policies and procedures.
* Share responsibility for data protection arising from the use of computers.
* Comply with all relevant Trust Policies and Procedures.
