Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategically minded Technical Manager to lead and execute the technical delivery framework across Kinda Dusty Ltd’s global programme of over 800 performances annually.
This role will define, implement and continuously refine a scalable production model that ensures acoustic excellence, technical consistency and cost efficiency across a diverse portfolio of venues including Cathedrals, Theatres, Arenas, Festivals and international touring venues.
You will bring strong expertise in live sound and production design, with the ability to confidently spec a room, assess venue acoustics and determine appropriate sound and lighting solutions that uphold Kinda Dusty’s production standards in any environment.
As the company’s senior technical lead, you will take ownership of supplier strategy, touring logistics models, asset planning and maintenance, compliance systems and technical budgeting.
This role requires a leader who is comfortable operating at both strategic and operational levels, capable of designing systems while actively managing their implementation across a high volume performance schedule.

We are an ever growing company that has built a reputation for producing world class entertainment both in the UK and internationally. Our shows play at concert halls, cathedrals and number one theatres across the globe, reaching up to 15,000 patrons per week. To date, Kinda Dusty have produced over 2000 concerts with their ‘Concerts by Candlelight’ series. These include; the first ever live rock concert at St Paul’s Cathedral, 4 tours of Australia and New Zealand, performances at the Coca‑Cola Arena - Dubai and The Etihad Arena - Abu Dhabi, a sell‑out concert at Carnegie Hall - New York and several performances in London’s West End including a recent sell‑out at The London Palladium.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Strategy & Scalability
* Define and evolve Kinda Dusty’s technical delivery model across a portfolio of 800+ performances annually.
* Build scalable production systems that ensure consistency of sound and lighting quality across a wide range of venue types.
* Develop adaptable technical specifications for Cathedrals, Theatres, Arenas, Festivals and international touring venues.
* Advise the Managing Directors on technical feasibility, infrastructure investment and long‑term production growth strategy.
* Continuously refine workflows to improve efficiency, resilience and scalability.
* Lead venue assessment and room specification, applying strong acoustic knowledge to determine appropriate sound solutions.
* Design and oversee production setups that maintain artistic integrity while remaining commercially viable.
* Standardise technical riders and production documentation across all productions.
* Act as the senior technical voice in venue negotiations and B2B partnerships.
* Contribute to early‑stage planning of new productions, advising on technical ambition and practical execution.
* Develop preferred technical supplier frameworks that deliver consistent quality and cost‑efficiency across the programme.
* Lead negotiation of sound, lighting, backline and production service agreements.
* Analyse technical spend across the portfolio and implement strategies to optimise cost without compromising standards.
* Build long‑term partnerships with sound teams capable of supporting growth and geographic expansion.
Touring & Operational Delivery Model
* Design repeatable touring models that support national and international expansion.
* Oversee international freight, Carnets and touring logistics.
* Ensure playback systems and show control infrastructure are robust, scalable and reliable.
* Maintain forward technical planning across the programme to ensure operational readiness.
* Lead technical compliance across all productions, ensuring adherence to Health & Safety legislation and industry best practice.
* Oversee production documentation standards including RAMS, PAT and supplier certification.
* Identify and mitigate technical and touring risk across the portfolio.
* Ensure touring activity aligns with insurance and regulatory requirements.
Strategic and Operational Execution
* Operate confidently at both strategic and operational levels within a lean, high‑growth organisation.
* Provide direct technical oversight and problem solving where required.
* Take ownership of technical delivery across the programme.
* Build systems and actively deliver them.
Key Requirements
* Substantial experience in live event technical leadership within a high‑volume or touring environment.
* Strong practical expertise in live sound design, with the ability to confidently assess and spec venues of varying scale and acoustic profile.
* Demonstrable experience building or refining technical systems across multiple productions rather than managing isolated events.
* Commercially astute, with experience negotiating supplier agreements and managing technical budgets at scale.
* Proven ability to balance artistic ambition with operational and financial reality.
* Experience delivering productions across diverse venue types (cathedrals, theatres, arenas, festivals or comparable environments).
* Highly organised with strong documentation discipline and operational oversight.
* Calm and decisive under pressure, with strong live troubleshooting capability.
* Experience with playback systems (e.g. QLab) and touring logistics preferred.
