Established in 1967, we specialise in providing accounting advice and business support to start-ups, sole traders, charities, partnerships and limited companies. From our offices on the edge of Chichester city centre, we maintain close working relationships with our clients and pride ourselves on delivering a friendly, professional and reliable service.
Due to continued growth, we are now seeking a Bookkeeper / Junior Accountant to join our team and support our expanding client base.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build on their qualifications or gain hands-on experience within a well-established and supportive practice.
The Role
You will be involved in a varied and hands-on role, including:
* Maintaining accurate financial records and bookkeeping data for a range of clients
* Preparing and submitting VAT returns and CIS returns
* Processing payroll
* Supporting the accounts team as required
* Handling confidential information with integrity and discretion
* Providing administrative support to the management team
* Assisting with day-to-day office operations, including scheduling, correspondence and telephone calls
About You
We are looking for someone who:
* Has experience using accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Office
* Demonstrates strong organisational and multitasking skills
* Has excellent attention to detail and accuracy
* Is able to work independently as well as part of a team
* Possesses strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Holds a bookkeeping qualification (such as AAT Certificate in Bookkeeping or ICB Certificate in Bookkeeping), is part-qualified AAT, or is qualified by experience (QBE)
