Job responsibilities
Dutiesand Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities to beundertaken by members of the Patient Services team may include any or all ofthe items in the following list. Dutiesmay be varied from time to time under the direction of the Patient ServicesManager, dependent on current and evolving Practice workload and staffinglevels:
The following are core responsibilities:
Ensurean effective and efficient reception service is provided to patients andany other visitors to the Practice.
Maintainand monitor the practice appointment system.
Processpersonal, telephone and e-requests for appointments.
Contactpatients to book follow-up care/appointments (including appointment for familyplanning and minor surgery) and pass on messages from other members of thepractice
Answerincoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers requestappropriately.
Signpostpatients to the correct service.
Initiatingcontact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members andexternal agencies.
Clinicallycode data on EMIS.
Dataentry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information asrequired
Inputdata into patients healthcare records as necessary.
Directrequests for information, i.e., SAR, insurance/solicitors letters and DVLAforms to the administrative team.
Manageall queries as necessary in an efficient manner.
Maintaina clean, tidy, effective working area at all times.
Supportall clinical staff with general tasks as requested.
Completeopening and closing procedures.

* Experience of working in primary or secondary care
* Experience of working in a GP practice
Qualifications

* GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths or equivalent
