Overview

Remit is recruiting on behalf of David Philp Commercials Ltd, who have an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in starting a career and gaining a recognised qualification in the Automotive Industry.

The apprentice program always apprentices to work full-time and can earn while they learn and put theory into practice within the Automotive Industry environment.

Attending college typically for the first 3 years and the last year based within the workshop. A qualified vehicle paint technician applies paint and finishes to a vehicle which has recently been repaired by the vehicle body technician. You will learn how to recognize the various materials used on vehicles and the prep that needs to be done before applying the paints and finishes. It is a skilled job, and you will be taught how to estimate costs accurately as well as given a thorough briefing in health and safety.

* Excellent practical skills
* The ability to work quickly but also pay attention to detail.
* The ability to work well alone as well as part of a team.
* Good communication skills
* The ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
* Nationals at level 4 or above in English and Maths
* It is also preferred if you have a Craft Subject and physics/science; these are advantageous but not mandatory.
* A desire to work in the Automotive Industry
* Confidence in problem-solving

Initial Assessments and interviews will be carried out by Remit Ltd.


Responsibilities

* Support the apprenticeship program by full-time attendance and practical on-the-job learning.
* Learn to recognize materials used on vehicles and perform prep work before painting.
* Assist in applying paint and finishes to vehicles post-repair.
* Develop cost estimation skills and adhere to health and safety procedures.


Qualifications

* National level 4 or above in English and Maths
* Preference for Craft Subject and physics/science
* Desire to work in the Automotive Industry
* Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
* Strong problem-solving and communication skills
