An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a Lead Building Surveyor to join the in-house team of a prestigious listed estate in Oxford.
The estate comprises a diverse and high-quality portfolio, supporting tenants across leisure, manufacturing, food & beverage, and advanced engineering. This is a client-side leadership role offering genuine ownership, variety and the chance to play a key part in the stewardship and evolution of a historic yet commercially dynamic estate.
All assets are within walking distance of the office, creating a highly collaborative, hands-on working environment. The role is primarily office-based with the flexibility for occasional home working.
The opportunity:
* Acting as the lead Building Surveyor across the estate
* Interfacing directly with tenants and building strong working relationships
* Managing and overseeing Licences to Alter
* Diagnosing defects and advising on building pathology
* Preparing specifications and scopes of work
* Managing tender processes and contractor appointments
* Overseeing projects from inception through to completion
* Supporting the long-term asset management strategy of a listed estate
About you:
* Proven experience in a Building Surveying role (client-side or consultancy)
* Strong technical knowledge including defect diagnosis and specification writing
* Experience managing projects and administering contracts
* Confident dealing directly with tenants and stakeholders
* Commercially aware with a practical, solutions-led mindset
* Collaborative, approachable and comfortable working within a close-knit team
* MRICS qualified or working towards chartership preferred
