Amentum are the Design and Engineering partner for Sellafield under the PPP (Programme and Project Partners). This is a 20-year arrangement to deliver ~£7bn of major projects. Our Nuclear team provides the front end design and engineering capability across the PPP portfolio. We are currently recruiting for a Lead EC&I Engineer to join the team in Birchwood.
Responsibilities will include;
* Act as the Responsible Engineer on projects
* Lead project delivery teams across the project lifecycle from bid generation, through concept and detailed design development to installation and commissioning
* Own and manage project budgets
* Built and manage client relationships and leverage those relationships to deliver continued opportunities and new business leads
* Work on systems integration, testing and validation of systems
* Demonstrate knowledge of the practical aspects of implementing engineering designs and understand the use of standards and compliance with regulatory requirements in an engineering environment
* Produce high-quality technical reports
* Simplify complex problems and build and maintain valuable relationships

Requirements
* MEng, MSc, BEng or BSc or equivalent in EC&I or another relevant discipline, chartered Engineer status with a relevant professional body
* Previous team leadership, line management, technical lead or Responsible Engineer experience
* An awareness of civil nuclear plant systems, structures and components and associated design and assessment guidelines (or relevant engineering principles from other highly regulated industries)
* An understanding of the relevant guidelines, standards and practices (e.g., IEC 61508, 61511, 61513, 61226, ONR SAPs / TAGS)
* Knowledge and experience in the systematic design lifecycle of a C&I system; including specification, design, assessment, verification, testing, installation, commissioning and maintenance of safety or process critical I&C Systems
* Knowledge of high integrity hardware or software-based control systems for industrial equipment
