About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated English Lecturer/Teacher to join a vibrant Further Education college in Bromley. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and high-quality English lessons to learners across a range of levels, helping them achieve their academic and personal goals.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced teacher or a passionate ECT looking to develop their career within a supportive FE environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons to students aged 16–19 and adult learners.
* Teach GCSE English and Functional Skills (Levels 1–2).
* Use a range of teaching methods and resources to meet diverse learning needs.
* Track, assess, and report on student progress, ensuring targets are met.
* Support learners with their literacy development and exam preparation.
* Contribute to curriculum development and the continuous improvement of the department.
Requirements
* A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, CertEd, DTLLS or equivalent) or willingness to work towards one.
* A degree or Level 5+ qualification in English (or a closely related subject).
* Experience teaching English in a college or secondary school setting.
* Strong classroom management and communication skills.
* Commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and supporting student success.
* An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
