We’re looking for a proactive and people-focused Enforcement Officer to join our Food and Safety Team. If you enjoy being out and about, engaging with businesses, and making a real impact on public health and safety—this role is for you! This is a temporary position until March 2026.
Your new role
In this role, you’ll be responsible for visiting approximately 500–600 food premises to assist businesses inpleting outstanding questionnaires. You’ll ensure all necessary information is accurately gathered and entered into our system to support regulatorypliance. You’ll also provide support to Category D officers as needed, contribute to inspections and enforcement activities, and help identify and address any unfair practices or breaches of legislation. The role offers flexible working arrangements—site visits can be scheduled Monday to Thursday, with the option to work from home on Fridays toplete administrative tasks.
What you'll need to succeed
We’re looking for candidates with either enforcement experience—such as in Environmental Health or Trading Standards—or a background in hospitality management, particularly those who have managed pubs or restaurants and possess strong Health & Safety knowledge. Excellentmunication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is a valid driving licence and access to a vehicle, given the travel involved in the role.
