Anaesthetic/ICU Fellow – Bariatric, Perioperative or Regional/Enhanced Recovery

Additional allowances will be paid based on rostered hours and the frequency of your participation on the rota. The Trust is compliant with the European Working Time Directive.
We offer several fellowships in Anaesthesia and ICU available from August 2026 for 12 months.
Job Responsibilities
* Pre, peri and post-operative management of surgical patients.
* Assisting with care of patients in the ICU.
* Providing assistance with resuscitation calls.
* Communication and liaison with all other medical and service departments within the hospital and with other hospitals.
* Teaching other doctors, medical students, nurses and other paramedical staff in the team in speciality and special interest.
* Participation in on-call rotas covering CEPOD, Intensive Care and Labour ward; theatre and ITU on‑call rotations.
* Maintaining a logbook and electronic record of learning experiences, including multisource feedback.
* Registering with the Royal College of Anaesthetists and using electronic lifelong learning platform.
* Participating in quality improvement projects, research and clinical governance.
Qualifications and Experience
* At least two years of Foundation training (FY1 and FY2) in a relevant training programme.
* Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice.
* Advanced Life Support Certificate from the Resuscitation Council UK or equivalent.
* Completion of RCoA IAC.
* At least 3 months experience in ITU/Anaesthetics in the UK.
Clinical Skills & Knowledge
* Range of clinical knowledge, skills and information technology expertise.
* Understanding of clinical risk management.
* Breadth of experience in and outside specialty.
* Understanding of NHS Clinical governance and resource constraints.
Teaching, Academic and Research Skills
* Evidence of interest and commitment to teaching; recognised teaching qualification.
* Participation in audit, research experience and publications.
* Appropriate progression of career to date.
Personal Attributes
* Good communication skills, both oral and written.
* Evidence of managerial skills and achievements.
