Assistant Accountant Our well-established client, based in Norwich, are currently seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their Finance team. This a full-time position, on a 6-month contract. Qualifications, Skills and Experience: Essential: * Experience of the necessary transactions and controls to maintain the integrity of the ledgers, * Recent experience of working in an Accounts role. * Excellent computer skills, including e-mail, internet, word-processing and spreadsheet knowledge * 5 GCSEs grades A-C including Maths and English or an equivalent qualification * Demonstrated ability to work independently, using initiative and applying Essential problem solving skills * Ability to maintain confidentiality and security of information where appropriate * Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well as part of a team * Good communication skills, both written and verbal Desirable: * Part qualified accountant or qualified by experience * Numeric analytical skills, with the ability to interrogate and interpret complex financial data Key Duties: * Routine student related transactions and mailbox query resolution. * Analysis of costs for capital grants and helping with grant claims as required. * Assisting with the preparation and posting of fixed asset additions and disposals. * Undertaking additional duties as required, including support for ONS submissions, administration of year-end transactions and associated analytical tasks. * As agreed with line manager, any other duties commensurate with the nature of the role.
