MacGregor Black is delighted to partner with a FMCG business in their search for a Commercial Finance Analyst. This is a permanent role based in York.
The Commercial Finance Analyst will play a pivotal role in supporting the marketing team by providing valuable financial analysis, insights, and recommendations. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to optimise marketing investments, evaluate campaign performance, and drive strategic decision-making.
This role offers a unique blend of finance and marketing, providing an exciting opportunity to influence business outcomes and contribute to brand growth.
Key responsibilities
* Partner with marketing teams to develop, analyse, and evaluate marketing plans, budgets, and forecasts.
* Conduct financial analysis to assess the ROI of marketing initiatives, including advertising campaigns, promotions, and product launches.
* Utilise financial modelling and forecasting techniques to predict future performance and identify areas for improvement.
* Track and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) related to marketing activities, such as sales trends, customer acquisition costs, and market share.
* Provide actionable insights and recommendations to optimize marketing spend, improve efficiency, and maximize ROI.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to develop pricing strategies, assess competitive positioning, and identify growth opportunities.
* Prepare regular reports and presentations to communicate financial performance, trends, and recommendations to senior management.
What are we looking for?
* Qualified accountant ideally ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent
* Proven experience in financial analysis, preferably in a marketing or consumer goods environment.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and draw meaningful insights.
* Proficiency in financial modelling, forecasting, and budgeting techniques.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate financial concepts into actionable recommendations.
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software/tools.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
