Sales Director (fixed term contract)
Lifestyle luxury hotel, Oxfordshire
1st September start – initial 6-month contract with an opportunity to extend to 9-months
Salary circa £65,000 pro rota plus 10% end of contract bonus, based on KPI’s
Hybrid (2 consecutive days on property, remaining days working remote)
We’re seeking an experienced, commercially astute and people-focussed Sales Director who brings both strategic thinking and hands-on leadership to the table.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about lifestyle luxury hospitality and able to lead with clarity, confidence and credibility.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy & Leadership
* Drive and deliver on strategic sales goals across key market segments with a focus on groups as well as leisure, corporate, and consortia.
* Lead, coach, and inspire the sales team, fostering a collaborative and performance-driven culture.
* Identify new business opportunities and implement proactive sales strategies to exceed revenue targets.
Client Relationship Management
* Maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients. Conduct regular outreach through calls, appointments, and networking.
* Ensure high levels of client satisfaction through consistent engagement, tailored proposals, and value-driven solutions.
* Serve as a brand ambassador at sales events, roadshows, site visits, and client entertainment engagements.
Business Development & Groups
* Support the sales team in replying to group sales enquiries in a timely manner.
* Continue to build a comprehensive prospect database.
* Stay ahead of market trends and competitor activity to shape sales tactics and identify emerging opportunities.
* Represent the hotel at key trade shows and industry events to enhance brand awareness and pipeline development.
* With the Commercial and Executive teams, review and provide reports on performance data.
* Support marketing initiatives and contribute to strategic planning meetings as required.
* Proactively assist with the management of the sales team.
Reporting & Analytics
* Monitor account performance and revenue contribution, adjusting sales strategies accordingly.
* Prepare and present weekly and monthly financial and productivity reports for internal review.
* Be fully conversant with Delphi, Opera Cloud, Agency 360, and Lanyon ensuring all information relating to appointments, client profiles and activities are up to date on a weekly basis as per company standards.
What we’re looking for
* Proven success in a senior sales leadership role within a luxury or lifestyle hotel environment.
* Experience in and knowledge of the Oxfordshire area is essential
* A strong track record of delivering revenue growth across multiple market segments, especially groups, leisure, corporate, and consortia.
* Experience leading, coaching, and motivating high-performing sales teams.
* A proactive and driven approach to business development and client relationships/account management.
* Excellent presentation, negotiation, and influencing skills - able to represent the brand with warmth and professionalism.
* A strategic mindset combined with the ability to analyse performance and adapt tactics quickly.
* Confidence working with CRM and reporting systems including Delphi, Opera Cloud, Agency360, and Lanyon.
* The ability to work effectively in a hybrid model, spending two consecutive days on property and the remainder remotely.
* Availability to start from 1st September 2025 and commit to the full contract term (6 months, with potential extension).
