We are looking to recruit a 6-8 session salaried GP to join our strong supportive team delivering evidence based high quality care to approximately 12,000 patients. We would welcome applications from experienced or recently qualified GPs.
Salary: £10,000 per session
Annual Leave: 7 weeks plus 1 week study leave

Main duties of the job
In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.
About us
Jubilee Medical is an established GP practice based in Newton Aycliffe with branch sites in Shildon and Eldon Lane. The practice is passionate about providing additional services to our local community, currently offering consultant led Paediatric and ENT clinics, out of hours access and home visits (including weekends and bank holidays) to all patients registered within our Primary Care Network. We also have a dedicated team of Advanced Nurse Practitioners supporting our local care homes ensuring our elderly population receive the appropriate clinical care and monitoring on a weekly basis. The practice has been operating as a Covid Vaccination Site since December 2020.

Job responsibilities
Clinical responsibilities:
1. In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion
2. Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation
3. Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
4. Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
5. Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols
6. Providing counselling and health education
7. Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate
8. Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
9. Collecting data for audit purposes
10. Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible)
11. Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate
12. In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.

Qualifications
Essential
32. Fully Qualified GP eligible to work in General Practice in the NHS
33. MBBS or equivalent medical degree
34. National Performers List Registration
35. General Practitioner Register under article 10 of the General and Specialist Medical Practice Order 2003
36. Not subject to suspension under section 41A of the Medical Act 1983
37. Clear DBS report
38. Evidence of commitment to ongoing personal & professional development
39. Eligible to independently practice in the United Kingdom
