Community Integrated Care is one of the UK's largest health and social care charities. We work hard to enriching the lives of people with many different care needs. Since the early days, we've grown to provide many innovative and bespoke care services to thousands of people across England and Scotland. We want to provide support based on the principles of choice, dignity and respect. We have strong values and we're proud to pioneer new ways of delivering social care to stand out in our sector. Our Support Workers are dedicated and passionate about going 'the extra mile' for the people we support and in return, we go the extra mile for them by investing in pay, recognition, wellbeing and continued professional and personal development. We will provide you with all the training, support and personal protective equipment you need in your role and will help you develop, should you decide you want to develop your career with us.
Who you'll be supporting & more about the role:
We are currently looking for a part-time (20 hour) Support Worker to join a small team in Fort William, supporting a young man with life-changing injuries to live as independently as possible in his own home.
In this role, you'll support with some personal care and moving and positioning, so previous experience in moving and positioning would be beneficial. The young man we support does his own cooking, medication and finances and is a very private person, so we're looking for friendly individuals who would be interested in sharing his interests.
The shifts we work are 8am - 1pm and 8am - 5pm on alternating days. We also provide some support from 11pm - 1am so availability for bank work on these shifts would be ideal.
A UK driving licence is essential as the role would require driving this gentleman's vehicle during daily activities. We know it takes a special person to work in social care and we recognise that not everyone that would be perfect for the role, will have professional experience. From people with vast experience in a support worker or care assistant role, from people with lived experiences who may have friends or relatives with disabilities or have looked after older relatives, to people with no experience at all.
We Enable, which are at the heart of everything we do and ensure that we deliver high quality, consistent care and support. Here at Community Integrated Care we aim to be a warm, welcoming and inclusive employer, where all colleagues feel they belong. We want to an organisation that is truly fair and equal to all - where individual diversity is valued, unique characteristics celebrated and everyone feels able to bring their true selves to work.
By encouraging and embracing a range of diverse backgrounds, experiences, capabilities and viewpoints, we will build a stronger, richer, more vibrant workforce, which reflects the people we support, and the communities in which we work. It helps us make better decisions, bring fresh ideas and become a true provider and employer of choice.
This publicly sets out the promises we've made to achieving this vision and how we will hold ourselves to account to getting there. Community Integrated Care is an Equal Opportunities and Disability Confident employer.
