This role oversees the hotel’s sales department, develops strong relationships with clients, and collaborates with operations to ensure guest satisfaction and repeat business.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to increase hotel occupancy and revenue across all segments (group, corporate, leisure, etc.).
* Identify and pursue new business opportunities through proactive prospecting, networking, and cold calling.
* Maintain and grow existing accounts by providing exceptional service and creating customized sales solutions.
* Lead, coach, and develop the sales team to achieve performance goals.
* Conduct regular sales calls, site visits, and presentations to potential clients and partners.
* Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer data to adjust sales strategies.
* Collaborate with revenue management and marketing to optimize pricing, promotions, and distribution.
* Prepare and present monthly/quarterly sales reports and forecasts to hotel leadership.
* Represent the hotel at industry trade shows, networking events, and client meetings.
* Ensure compliance with brand standards and service levels.
Requirements
* Degree in Hospitality, Business, or a related field preferred.
* 3–5+ years of hotel sales experience; leadership or management experience is highly desirable.
* Strong knowledge of local and national sales markets.
* Proficient in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Exceptional communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
* Ability to lead by example and foster a results-driven, collaborative team culture.
Preferred Qualifications
* Previous experience with hotel systems and sales tools.
* Certified Hospitality Sales Professional (CHSP) or similar credential.
* Familiarity with revenue management and hotel operations.
