Ruskin Mill Land Trust holds responsibility for land and building assets which it leases to Ruskin Mill Trust. By partnering with Ruskin Mill Trust, we help create lively centres for special needs education, arts and culture, festivals, social enterprise, and community. We also protect landscapes with woodlands, farms, market gardens, and a reputedly oldest fish farm in the country, managed through holistic, biodynamic agriculture.
Ruskin Mill Land Trust (The Trust) and Ruskin Mill Trust (RMT) are separate, sister charities inspired by common principles – Ruskin, Morris, and Steiner. RMT operates various schools, colleges, and provisions across the country, utilizing practical land and craft activities to support young people with autistic spectrum conditions and other learning differences. The post holder will be responsible for:
1. The stewardship of the Trust’s estates and assets.
2. Management and effective utilization of all property, considering environment, aesthetics, financial values, town planning, and appropriate land use.
3. Ensuring proper use and maintenance of property assets, which include farms, woodland, listed buildings, former industrial properties, and houses across the country.
4. Collaborating with Trust professionals such as the Head of Property, Biodynamic Land Manager, Architects, Environmental and Energy Manager, Legal Team, CFO, and Executive Director to develop strategic plans for property and land management.
Requirements for the role include:
* A Chartered Surveyor or Registered Architect
* Experience in property and estate management
