We are looking to expand our Lung Screening Service!
To reach this goal, we are looking for dedicated Registered Nurse to provide a holistic assessment of the patients and their families using clinical judgment, specialist knowledge and excellent interpersonal and communications skills and to represent the views and act as an advocate for patients during the screening process
We have both full time and part time (18.75 hours per week) positions available
You MUST hold a valid UK NMC pin for this role. PRN and non NMC pins cannot be accepted and unfortunately, your application will not be shortlisted.
Interviews will be held IN PERSON ONLY and no remote interviews will be granted.
Travel across the trust footprint is required to support patients and staff at screening locations.
Main duties of the job
Initially, to support the lead assessor nurse working with lead clinicians, program manager and other key stakeholders to establish standard operating procedures, policies and processes to support the effective delivery of the new lung screening service.
The core duties of the role are:
1. Provide specialist knowledge and information resources for Multidisciplinary staff, colleagues, patients, and families.
2. Ensure cost effective use of resources.
3. The post holder, along with the rest of the lung screening team will work to deliver evidence-based practice and quality improvement initiatives.
4. The principal role of the post holder is to work within a high-quality screening service to meet the needs of the patient requiring screening.
5. Assist with the flow of patients through the screening program, supporting patients and working within a clinical and non-clinical MDT team.

Experience
Essential criteria
13. Experience at Band 5 or equivalent within the lung, critical care, or cancer specialty
14. Experience of undertaking audit and standard setting
Desirable criteria
15. Experience of respiratory condition recognition and management
16. Research experience
17. Experience of clinical teaching / clinical education roles
Knowledge
Essential criteria
18. An understanding of the national lung screening programme
19. An understanding of national guidance on cancer pathway, specifically within lung.
Qualifications

20. UK NMC registration – Adult nursing RGN
21. Diploma level qualification
22. Evidence of continuing professional development
