Port Operative

Responsibilities include:
- Operating heavy plant and machinery such as loading shovels, tug-masters, forklifts, bagging plants, and materials handlers to ensure the safe and efficient handling of cargo.
- Undergoing training to operate new and additional plant and equipment as required.
- Engaging in the safe movement of cargo in storage areas, warehouses, and on vessels.
- Assisting in the operation of the weighbridge and recording administrative information related to cargo movement.
- Working with IT systems and software packages.
- Undertaking cleaning and maintenance duties to support port operations.
- Ensuring compliance with cargo handling licences.
- Performing any other duties as required.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
- Full UK Driving License
- Ability to operate heavy plant and machinery including material handlers, telehandlers, and loading shovels
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
