Mechanical Site Manager – South Wales
Initial project based in Caerphilly
Salary: £47,500 – £50,000 + Benefits
Working Hours: 40 – 50 hours per week
Allowances: £50 daily working away allowance (where applicable)
Benefits: Company van, fuel card, 21 days annual leave + bank holidays
We’re seeking a proactive, organised and experienced individual with a background in mechanical project delivery on construction or building services contracts. to join an award-winning engineering contractor with over 60 years of expertise.
Our client is a multi-disciplined engineering contractor with a long-standing reputation for delivering high-quality technical services across Wales. They proudly serve clients including the Welsh Government, universities, and social housing providers, working on a wide variety of projects ranging from leisure centres to public infrastructure.
The Role
As the Mechanical Site Manager, you will be responsible for leading the day-to-day management of site activities, ensuring project delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will work closely with a team of 3–4 operatives and serve as the primary site contact for our client.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage mechanical works on site, ensuring compliance with specifications and safety regulations.
Oversee and coordinate a small team of engineers and subcontractors.
Act as the site point of contact for the client; build strong working relationships and plan future works.
Provide regular reports to senior management, including cost analysis, delivery metrics, and project progress.
Support delivery across a mix of leisure centre, new build, and retrofit projects.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar mechanical or site management role.
Demonstrable experience with leisure centre builds, retrofits, and new construction projects.
SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) or SSSTS qualification.
CSCS card (Supervisor or Manager level).
Mechanical or Building Services Engineering qualifications (NVQ Level 3+, HNC/HND or equivalent).
