<div><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Provide high intensity interventions – initially CBT – within the weight management service.</li><li>Accept referrals and work according to approved protocols within the service and as part of a multidisciplinary team.</li><li>Adhere to an activity contract for the number of client contacts and clinical sessions per week to minimise waiting times and keep treatment accessible.</li><li>Work with people from diverse cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary, while maintaining a commitment to equal opportunities.</li><li>Assess clients for suitability for psychological interventions following the specialist psychological model of care.</li><li>Make decisions on the suitability of new referrals, referring unsuitable clients to the relevant service or back to the referral agent as required.</li><li>Formulate, implement and evaluate therapy programmes for patients within the Weight Management Service.</li><li>Use highly developed communication skills to understand clients’ personal and sensitive difficulties, including maladaptive eating behaviours and associated psychological issues.</li><li>Exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment and treatment of patients in the service.</li><li>Educate and involve family members and others in treatment, conveying CBT and other explanations in clear, sensitive language and promoting a holistic approach to care.</li></ul></div>
