Overview
As a Chef for Sodexo at John Kyrle High School, Ross on Wye, HR9 7ET, you will assist the Cook Manager to oversee all aspects of the food and beverage operations as well as the finances for your school’s kitchen. You will support the Cook Manager in ensuring you showcase what the kitchen provides, presenting it in an eye-catching way, ensuring we offer the best service possible. You will not work unsociable hours and you will get public holidays off, including Christmas.

What you do
* Prepare, cook, present, and serve food to company standards which may include breakfast, morning break, lunch, and hospitality.
* Adhere to all company compliance (such as Food safety, Health and Safety, Allergen awareness, COSHH and HACCP regulations).
* Carry out craft/skills training for catering staff.
* Ensure that all service counters and food are presented to company standards.
* Guarantee that each dish served is portioned according to business requirements.
* Complete daily/weekly cleaning duties as instructed by the line manager, including all food preparation and storage areas, all catering communal areas, and removal of waste from the catering area.
* Deliver exceptionally high standards in customer service, cleanliness, tidiness, and other operational activity.
What you bring
* A minimum of 1 year of hands-on cooking experience; training on Food Hygiene and Health & Safety will be provided.
* Expertise in cooking on a large scale, suitable for 100–1300 students.
* Experience following recipes, possibly in a similar setting.
* Experience working with fresh produce and ingredients.
* Awareness of the importance of adhering to health and safety procedures.
* Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines in a busy kitchen environment.
* Professional attitude, leading by example with a positive outlook.
* Basic food handling skills certification.

Package Description
* £13.50 to £14.50 per hour
* 37.5 hours per week
* Working pattern: Monday to Friday
* Term Time only (39 week Working Contract paid over 52 weeks)
Equated pay (spread-over pay) distributes contracted hours and holiday pay evenly over 12 months. Further information will be provided at interview stage.
