Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Graduate Structural Engineer based in the Midlothian countryside, with flexibility for remote work. The role involves structural analysis, preparing detailed designs and calculations with opportunities to be Client facing and working closely with local architects.
The successful candidate will assist in the design of structures for new builds, extensions, and conversions, while collaborating with architects, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered to a high standard.
This role will suit a candidate who is a problem solver, with good communication skills and enjoys working collaboratively on challenging architecturally led projects. You will be happy working in a small team and may have aspirations of running a small practice in the future.
Qualifications and Attributes
* MEng/ BEng degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
* 0-3 years post graduate experience
* Good understanding of Structural Engineering principles
* Experience in performing Structural Analysis and engineering calculations
* Natural problem-solving skills and attention to detail
* Strong communication skills for team collaboration and client interaction
* Domestic project experience
* Experience with timber frame design and modern methods of construction is an advantage
* Ability to work both on-site in small countryside garden office (full facilities) and remotely to meet project needs
This position will suit someone who is happy to work on domestic scale projects and enjoys working collaboratively. We are establishing a small team dedicated to providing a reliable service to Clients and Architects on design driven projects.
One to one support and opportunities to work on larger scale projects through partnerships with national consultancies can be made available for those working towards Chartered status.
