A Brief Overview
Radiologic Technologist perform radiographic procedures at a technical level requiring sound understanding of anatomical positioning and physiology; a high degree of technical competency and with the ability to act with initiative and ingenuity with minimal supervision. Apply ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis in adult and/or pediatric radiology. Employees in this position will be responsible for inpatient on‑call and shift rotation.
What You Will Do
* Provide excellent patient care by educating and preparing patients for their procedure while utilizing effective communication.
* Ensure patient comfort and safety for the duration of their procedure.
* Obtain and document accurate patient medical history to assist radiologist’s interpretation.
* Position and instruct patient while utilizing protective shielding, immobilization, and supportive devices as required.
* Perform standard diagnostic radiographic procedures as required by physician’s order.
* Perform a variety of diagnostic procedures to include but not limited to fluoroscopy, C‑arm in the Operating Room, digital and mobile imaging at applicable locations.
* Select proper exposure factors of radiographic equipment for each examination.
* Completion of exam in hospital information system.
* Cleaning and maintaining all imaging equipment.
* May also assist with mentoring and/or training students, new hires.
Education Qualifications
* Associate's Degree from an approved Radiologic Technology program Required
Experience Qualifications
* Minimum of one (1) year Radiologic Technology experience Preferred
Skills And Abilities
* Understand and utilize ALARA concepts and critical thinking
* Time management
* Effective communication.
Licenses and Certifications
* Radiography – American Registry Radiologic Technologist Required
* Radiography – South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association Required
* Basic Life Support Certified – American Heart Association required within 30 days of hire. Recertification every two year Required
