Description
We are looking for a Financial Accountant, reporting into the Group Reporting Manager, to join our Group Finance team. This role would suit someone looking to make their first move into industry from practice. You will be a member of the team responsible for managing Group holding companies (including debt and interest), consolidation, preparation of the financial statements and Group accounting policies.
This role provides a great opportunity to gain experience in a range of areas, including holding company management accounts, year-end financial accounts, Private Equity and lender reporting and the year-end audit process. This is a new role which will grant exposure to the senior finance team and Private Equity investors, as well expanding your technical accounting and financial reporting knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in the production of the year-end financial statements for all Group entities.
* Be a key contact for the auditors and help to facilitate the year-end audit process.
* Prepare month end holding company journals, including intercompany, management charges, accruals and prepayments.
* Assist in the preparation of month end holding company management accounts.
* Prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
* Perform month end intercompany reconciliations.
* Contribute to the production of accounting policy papers and accounting policy manuals.
* Support ad hoc requests / analysis from Private Equity lenders.
Experience and Qualifications
* Newly qualified ACA, with up to 1 year post qualification experience.
* Technically proficient and strong double entry bookkeeping.
* Strong Microsoft Excel capability.
* Strong time management and organisational skills to ensure deadlines are met and is-sues are dealt with in a timely manner.
* High attention to detail.
* Ability to learn and work as an effective team member.
* Problem-solving and analytical skills.
* A continuous improvement mentality with the ability to challenge existing processes.
* Experience with consolidation desirable.
* Experience with controls desirable.
