At Pets at Home, our Enterprise Architects play a pivotal role in shaping the technology and change strategy that supports our entire business — from pet care centres and vet practices to our support offices and digital experiences. Working closely with Business and Change Leaders, you’ll help define organisational strategy and build the roadmaps that bring it to life. Your guidance will ensure our IT and Change investments deliver meaningful outcomes that align with our long‑term vision.
What you’ll do
1. Develop robust enterprise architectures and artefacts that guide transformation, optimisation and change across your domain.
2. Create strategic roadmaps and investment plans that align with organisational goals.
3. Build strong relationships with stakeholders, influencing and gaining support for architectural direction.
4. Drive business and operating model transformation by applying business architecture and emerging technologies.
5. Promote architectural governance and guide colleagues to deliver programmes and projects in line with principles and standards.
6. Support business growth and innovation through a combination of business insight, people and process change, and technology enablement.
7. Act as an internal consultant, offering expert insight and recommendations that support informed decisions and clear business outcomes.
About You
8. A seasoned Enterprise Architect with experience in complex environments such as retail, veterinary, healthcare or similar.
9. Skilled across the full Enterprise Architecture spectrum — Business, Data, Application and Technology — with deeper expertise in one or more areas.
10. Confident collaborating with business and technology leaders to translate objectives into clear roadmaps and strategies.
11. Comfortable navigating ambiguity and guiding diverse stakeholders through complex change.
12. Knowledgeable about modern business, data and technology ecosystems, with an eye on industry trends and best practice.
13. Effective operating both independently and within virtual teams, taking the lead when needed.
14. Commercially aware, analytically strong and able to balance long‑term vision with short‑term priorities.
15. An excellent communicator who can articulate complex concepts clearly and influence at all levels.
16. A pragmatic problem solver, able to challenge constructively and respond to challenge with confidence.
Inclusion
Our diversity and inclusion vision is that everyone is welcome and feels part of our Group. If you think you’re a great match for this role — and you share our belief that together we’re better with pets — we’d love to hear from you, whatever your background or circumstances.
