Are you an experienced Social Worker looking for a new opportunity within a supportive and collaborative environment? The Youth Justice Support Team (YJST) are dedicated to improving the outcomes for children, supporting parents and delivering services to victims. Responsibilities
* Working collaboratively with other professionals and agencies to ensure high quality strengths based assessments are completed.
* Working directly with children and families to provide support, guidance, and intervention to prevent and reduce offending.
* Conducting assessments and maintaining accurate and timely records.
* Cover Youth Justice duty and attend court when required.
* Contributing to the continuous improvement of services through participation in team meetings and supervision.
Qualifications
* Qualified Social Worker and registration with Social Work England.
* Hold a current driving licence and have use of a car.
* Experience in working within a Children and Family Services environment, ideally Youth Justice.
* Sound knowledge of legislation, policies, and best practices related to child safeguarding.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships.
* Strong assessment and analytical skills.
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

This role requires the incumbent to have a car available at work to undertake duties and will be expected to undertake at least 1500 business miles per year. Essential Car User status attracts a lump sum allowance paid on a monthly basis as well as a free car parking space if you work at one of the Council’s corporate buildings.
