Job Description:
The role
The Public Health Division is recruiting two Public Health Intelligence Analyst positions to support our work on Knowledge & Intelligence.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a successful, established, and well-resourced team delivering innovative public health interventions in a world-class city. Responsibilities will require working in a fast-paced environment, accountability for delivery, a strong commitment to tackling health inequalities, and personal resilience.
We seek an individual with excellent public health skills and experience, eager to develop their career in Public Health Intelligence.
You will be an essential part of the Public Health Knowledge & Intelligence team, collaborating with colleagues to produce high-quality work aimed at understanding health inequalities. You will support and often lead key projects, including major public health reports and reporting on commissioned services across our public health programs.
Your focus areas will include data and analytics, monitoring health outcomes and inequalities, and evaluating services and programs. Although based within the Public Health Division, you will liaise with council and NHS colleagues to address shared health and wellbeing priorities.
About you:
You must possess core public health competencies such as epidemiology, needs assessment, evaluation, evidence-based decision making, and partnership skills. Excellent communication, presentation, and high-quality written skills are essential. Experience with analytical tools like MS Excel, PowerBI, R, and Stata is required.
About Southwark:
We are London's largest local authority social landlord, managing 55,000 homes and serving 40% of Southwark residents. Our borough hosts over 18,300 businesses, including iconic venues and social enterprises, with a diverse and growing population.
We are committed to fairness and tackling inequalities. Our residents and communities are our greatest asset, and our borough plan, Southwark Stands Together, guides our efforts to combat racism, injustice, and inequality. We aim to foster a just and inclusive community.
Please note, a satisfactory basic Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is required.
