Lecturer: MA Music Production - Post Production Mixing and Mastering teaching and module co-ordination (Part Time)

We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Postproduction Mixing & Masteringto contribute to the delivery and development of our innovative MA Music Production curriculum. This role involves leading a core Level 7 module that supports students in refining their technical and creative skills in postproduction, with a focus on professional portfolio development and industry-standard practices.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, delivery, and coordination of the module, ensuring it aligns with programme outcomes and complements concurrent modules such as Creative Music Production.The module also serves as a critical bridge to the Major Project, where students undertake their most ambitious creative work.


What You Will Do

* Module Design
o Develop and maintain a curriculum that reflects current and emerging practices in postproduction, including immersive audio formats and broadcast standards.
o Ensure alignment with programme learning outcomes and integration with related modules.
* Module Delivery
o Deliver engaging and effective teaching through lectures, workshops, and studio-based sessions.
o Facilitate student learning through practical exploration, critical listening, and creative experimentation.
o Provide academic support and feedback to guide students in the development of professional-standard portfolios.
* Module Coordination
o Manage the operational aspects of the module, including scheduling, assessment, and resource planning.
o Collaborate with academic colleagues to ensure cohesive delivery across the programme.
o Contribute to quality assurance processes, including module evaluation and curriculum review.


About You

* A degree in Music Production, Sound Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
* Demonstrable expertise in postproduction, including mixing, mastering, and immersive audio formats.
* Experience in teaching, training, or mentoring within a higher education or professional context.
* Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
* A postgraduate qualification or professional certification in a relevant area.
* Experience in curriculum development and module leadership.
* Familiarity with a range of DAWs, plugins, and postproduction workflows used in industry.
