The School and Role
A welcoming primary school in the Irlam area is seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and motivated Learning Support Assistant who is looking to build a long-term career within a school setting. This role involves working across Key Stage 2 (Year 3–Year 6) in a supportive, two-form entry primary school.
As one of their team, it is essential that you are committed to providing high-quality learning opportunities that enable all pupils to thrive and succeed. You will be resilient, adaptable and able to move around school wherever the need is on any given day.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning, particularly for pupils with special educational needs (SEN) and additional learning needs.
Requirements
The requested skillset the desired Learning Support Assistant will require;
1. Supporting the Year 3 - Year 6 in delivering and motivated children to get involved in engaging and accessible lessons.
2. Working with small groups or individual pupils to reinforce learning, provide targeted support and help close gaps in understanding.
3. Assisting with planning and preparing learning resources, displays and classroom activities.
4. Supporting pupils with SEND or additional needs to access learning and participate fully in class.
5. Encouraging positive behaviour, promoting independence and fostering strong learning attitudes.
6. · Helping to assess pupils’ progress through observations, feedback and record-keeping.
