Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Maintenance Operative to join their team on a 3-month contract. As a Mechanical Maintenance Operative, you will be responsible for carrying out a range of programmed, planned, and reactive mechanical maintenance and repairs on the company's building services, systems, infrastructure, plant, and equipment. Key Responsibilities of the Mechanical Maintenance Operative: - Perform a variety of programmed, planned, and reactive mechanical maintenance and repairs, including HVAC system maintenance and repair - Carry out plumbing maintenance and repairs, such as repairing or replacing sanitary systems, pipework, drains, and heating systems - Investigate, diagnose, and repair faults, respond to breakdowns, and assist other tradesmen as needed - Modify existing plant, equipment, controls, and distribution systems as directed - Inspect, service, repair, and maintain heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems - Install and remove temporary installations as required - Operate and interrogate computer-based building maintenance and control systems - Perform associated non-trade-specific tasks as required, such as cleaning, driving, and assisting other trades To be successful in this role, the ideal Mechanical Maintenance Operative will have: - Proven experience in a similar mechanical maintenance or HVAC role - Strong technical skills and knowledge of building services, systems, and equipment - Ability to diagnose and repair a range of mechanical faults - Excellent communication and customer service skills - Flexibility to work as part of a multi-skilled maintenance team - Commitment to following safety procedures and regulations This company offers a competitive hourly rate of £18.88 - £21.68 per hour, with working hours of Monday to Wednesday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, and Thursday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
