Join our brand-new Corporate Fleet Unit (CFU) within Gloucestershire County Council (GCC). The CFU focuses on innovative fleet management, maintenance, procurement, policy, legal compliance, and safety of all GCC Fleet, including Gloucestershire Fire & Rescue Service (GFRS).
We are forward-thinking and like to challenge the status quo. We aim to be greener and leaner while embracing new ideas and technology. We already have a dedicated team based at the Tri Service Workshops & Shire Hall in Gloucester and are looking to add talented individuals like you.
About the Role
This role is crucial as it helps shape how we operate. You will report to the Equipment Team Supervisor and assist in delivering a comprehensive maintenance and repair schedule across GFRS and GCC.
Our fleet is evolving with new systems, vehicles, and technology. You will provide a support function to change over equipment and vehicles at fire stations and GCC sites, conducting basic defect rectification and preparing safety-critical equipment for maintenance and repair.
About You
We seek organized, methodical applicants with an understanding of fleet operations. The critical nature of GFRS's service to the community requires 24/365 call-out cover. You will work closely with colleagues, attend training, and manage your workload effectively. Excellent communication skills and a flexible approach are essential. Understanding logistics is ideal.
