Working in an in vitro laboratory environment, to perform duties to support the smooth running of the laboratory. To support ongoing projects with the timely provision of cultured cells. This role will be performed under supervision in a lab based environment in accordance with health and safety requirements and to Crown Bioscience UK company standards.
Responsibilities:
* To prepare cell cultures for in vivo and in vitro studies, to agreed standards and productivity, in line with SOPs.
* To identify problems with cultures of cells and discuss and agree solutions with supervisor and other team members.
* To be responsible for and ensure that the results of experiments are recorded accurately, in a timely fashion to the required standard.
* To effectively communicate results to other members of the team, or other functions as required.
* To be responsible for the timely cleaning and maintenance of lab equipment.
* To prepare reagents required in a timely manner.
* To be an effective team member possessing a range of practical skills and demonstrating flexibility at all times.
Education, skills and requirements:
* B.Sc., HNC/HND, or M.Sc. degree in a relevant subject and equivalent level of understanding developed through relevant scientific work experience.
* Some experience working in an in vitro lab environment is desirable
* Competence in aseptic technique and good analytical skills
* Some experience working with cell cultures (both adherent and suspension).
* Biochemical and/or molecular biology methods.
* Proficient in Microsoft office programmes
