Role Description
The Financial Accountant will work with the accounting team supporting accurate financial reporting, entity-level accounting, and financial control activities across Gemcorp Capital. This role is likely suitable for a newly qualified accounting professional with good technical skills, curiosity, and a proactive approach to learning.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Prepare management accounts for complex entities, including full journal entry posting.
* Review management accounts for simpler entities to ensure accuracy and compliance.
* Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
* Posting invoices, debit and credit notes.
* Ownership of the accrual and provision processes
* Support entity alignment and intercompany reconciliations across the Group.
* Assist with statutory financial statements and year-end audit processes.
* Provide support on FCA reporting as required.
* Assist with accounts payable processes and bank reconciliations.
* Liaise with service providers and banks to ensure controls and procedures are adhered to.
* Respond promptly to ad hoc information and reporting requests.
* Collaborate closely across the Finance function and other internal stakeholders.
Candidate profile
* ACA, ACCA or CIMA (or international equivalent) qualification (candidates with around 0–2 years post‑qualification experience are encouraged to apply).
* Strong technical accounting knowledge.
* Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and report building. Power Query is a plus.
* Experience with accounting software; Business Central experience is preferable.
* High level of accuracy and analytical ability.
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
* Strong communication skills and willingness to learn.
* Self-starter with a proactive approach to personal development.
* Strong integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.
