Tor Multimix is seeking a reliable and skilled Concrete Line Pump Operator to join our growing team based in Glastonbury. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and cleaning concrete pumping equipment, ensuring the safe and efficient placement of concrete across a variety of customer sites.
The role requires a proactive, flexible individual who can also support batching plant operations and be available when the pump is not allocated to jobs.
Key Responsibilities
Concrete Pump Operations
Operate the concrete line pump safely and efficiently in line with company procedures and site requirements
1. Set up, assemble, and dismantle pipelines, hoses, and pumping systems on-site
2. Pump concrete accurately to specified locations, ensuring quality and consistency of placement
3. Monitor pumping operations and identify blockages or issues during pours
4. Clean pump, pipelines, and associated equipment thoroughly after each job
Vehicle & Equipment Responsibilities
5. Drive and position the pump vehicle safely to and from sites
6. Carry out daily checks, inspections, and routine maintenance on pump equipment
7. Report defects, faults, or repair requirements promptly
8. Ensure all equipment is kept in a clean, safe, and serviceable condition
Site Coordination & Safety
9. Communicate effectively with site supervisors, customers, and concrete drivers to ensure smooth operations
10. Follow all health & safety procedures, including correct use of PPE at all times
11. Ensure safe setup and operation of pump equipment on varied site conditions
Batching Plant Support (Additional Requirement)
12. Assist with day-to-day operations of the batching plant when the pump is not scheduled for work
13. Support loading, batching, and dispatch of concrete and screed as required
14. Help maintain cleanliness and organisation of the plant
15. Work alongside plant manager to ensure production targets and customer demands are met
16. Carry out general yard duties and support wider operational needs of the business
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
17. Previous experience operating a concrete line pump preferred but not essential
18. Good understanding of and site operations and a knowledge of concrete
19. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
20. Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical awareness
21. Good communication and customer service skills
22. Flexible approach to working hours (early starts / late finishes as required)
Qualifications & Requirements
23. Valid UK driving licence (HGV Class 2 preferred)
24. CPCS / NPORS qualification (desirable)
25. CSCS card (preferred)
