Accountant
Location: Bembridge, Isle of Wight
Salary: Up to £60,000 depending on experience
We are seeking an Accountant to join a leading engineering and manufacturing organisation. This role will play a crucial part in financial control, cost management, and operational performance within a complex manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities
Prepare monthly management accounts, variance analysis, year‑end reporting and support external audit activity, ensuring strong compliance with UK GAAP and internal controls.
Maintain and improve standard costing models, analyse production variances, and oversee WIP and inventory valuation to ensure accuracy and insight for operational teams.
Lead budgeting activity for manufacturing operations while producing rolling forecasts, cashflow projections, and financial insight for production planning.
Partner closely with operations, engineering and supply chain teams to influence decision‑making, support cost‑reduction initiatives, and improve operational performance.
Analyse programme profitability, pricing and BOM cost structures, providing clear financial guidance across multiple aircraft variants and long‑term manufacturing projects.
Drive improvements across financial processes and ERP utilisation, supporting system enhancements and promoting stronger data integrity and reporting capability.
Experience Required
Fully qualified or part‑qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA).
Minimum 5 years' experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of standard costing, inventory management and project accounting.
Confident working within ERP systems with advanced Excel skills.
Excellent analytical ability and strong stakeholder engagement skills.
Qualifications
A recognised ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification (fully or almost fully qualified)
