The vacancy
These are exciting times at Watford Community Housing. With V1, G1, and C1 ratings we're committed to building high-quality new homes that help people live better lives. Our current Business Plan supports the delivery of at least 750 new homes over the next five years and we will source these through regeneration initiatives, land led schemes, and s106 schemes with selected partners.
We are currently looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Partnerships and New Business team to help us turn these plans into reality.
What's the role?
As part of our Partnerships Team, you will use your experiences and skills to help us build a robust supply of desperately needed new affordable homes - from social rented to shared ownership homes, from family housing to retirement living and flexi-care schemes.

What's the role?
As part of our Partnerships Team, you will use your experiences and skills to help us build a robust supply of desperately needed new affordable homes - from social rented to shared ownership homes, from family housing to retirement living and flexi-care schemes.
The right candidate will have experience of working effectively and proactively with stakeholders across all sectors and with internal colleagues to source new opportunities, secure internal approvals, and then lead schemes through planning to acquisition.
In this role you will need to:
* Ensure a high standard of customer service.
* Take responsibility for the management of all aspects of the development process across multiple schemes.
* Lead professional teams in the delivery of projects from planning to completion, delegating as necessary to ensure efficient management.
* Work with numerous internal teams to ensure a seamless handover of new properties.
What are we looking for?
You will be passionate about providing new affordable homes, with the ability to interact empathetically with a wide variety of people to secure new development opportunities. You will have a background in a land and new business capacity and have a wider knowledge of the housing or construction sectors.
Essential:
* At least 3 years' experience in the housing development industry
* Experience leading new projects to secure viable schemes for delivery
* Experience and knowledge of the regulatory environment under which housing associations operate
* Ability to lead multi-disciplinary project teams to deliver successful outcomes
* You will need to hold a UK driving licence with access to a suitable vehicle, with insurance cover for business use.
Desirable:
* Knowledge of the housing sector
* Proficient user of Microsoft Office including Excel
* Knowledge of Pamwin appraisal and cashflow management tools
* A relevant qualification (e.g. CIH, CIoB, RICS or an appropriate degree).
