We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Adult Acute Speech and Language Therapist to join our team in Wrexham. This role involves providing specialized care for adult patients with dysphagia in an acute district general hospital setting. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, and swallowing disorders, ensuring high-quality patient care and effective communication within the multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities:
As an Adult Acute Speech and Language Therapist, you will be responsible for managing a caseload of adult patients with dysphagia, providing comprehensive assessments and individualized treatment plans. You will work closely with other healthcare professionals to deliver integrated care, participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, and contribute to discharge planning. Your role will also involve educating patients and their families about swallowing and communication disorders, maintaining accurate patient records, and staying up-to-date with the latest clinical practices and research.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Degree in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent
* HCPC registration
* Experience in an acute hospital setting
* Specialist skills in the management of dysphagia
* Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Strong organizational and time management skills
* Commitment to continuous professional development and staying up-to-date with the latest research and best practices
