The Market Data Product team objectives include the strategy and proposition for market data management to support the evolving business requirements on behalf of the Securities Services business.
We are currently seeking a professional to join our team in the role of: Product Manager - Market Data
The primary purpose of this role will be to support the market data strategy, development roadmap, and have specific responsibilities for market data vendor licensing, obligations and usage.
This role will cover the full breath of Securities Services footprint and products. Providing the role holder with an opportunity to work across markets and engage with internal stakeholders including Product Management, Sales, Account Management, Client Change and Onboarding, Data Digital and Innovation, IT, Legal, Markets and Securities Services Operations, Market Data Services and Procurement.

In this role you will:
* Act as the key business interface for market data licensing for the Securities Services business and HSBC’s Market Data Services and Procurement teams, ensuring the business needs are met, with best fees and terms for Securities Services.
* Contribute to the development and maintenance of the market data strategy, technology and roadmap for Securities Services with a particular focus on data content and licensing.
* Manage the risk and communication associated with HSBC’s third party data vendor contractual usage terms and obligations and prepare market data analysis, business cases and reporting for a wide range of initiatives such as data supplier selection, license negotiation and associated obligations.
* Produce effective management information and data analysis that facilitates strategic decision making and that demonstrates continued optimisation and value for money.
* Design and maintain product service and definition documentation, apply a strong cost discipline, with continuous review of market data consumption and delivery of targets whilst engaging with third party data providers, clients and internal stakeholders on product proposition / requirements and take feedback as input into product development.
* Participate as key stakeholder to client onboarding, fund launch and change programmes, ensuring requirements and estimates are accurately captured, solutions are robust and effective in improving product profitability.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
* Comprehensive understanding of market data licensing, commercial policies, and products including global data vendor carriers, exchanges, credit ratings agencies, index providers, security identifier providers and local market agencies is essential.
* Experience of market data provider selection, onboarding, displacement, model/process design and definition and an understanding of the Securities Services business, data usage, industry trends, and risk management.
* Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the securities, derivatives and digital asset markets and data content such as security reference data, pricing, and index data.
* Able to multi-task, define problem statements, analyse causes, assess options, and find effective solutions, you will possess a strategic mindset, be self-motivated, driven and delivery focused with strong cost discipline and experience in building and managing business cases and risk.
* Energetic, collaborative, with excellent relationship building and influencing skills, a solid communicator, both verbally and in writing, with strong presentation skills.
