Overview
The Electrical Automation Engineer is responsible for the electrical, automation, and industrial network systems in our production and facilities. You will maintain these systems and support and implement improvement projects as appropriate.
Responsibilities
* Electrical: High Voltage (HV) supply, knowledge of the distribution and transformation network on site; Low Voltage (LV) distribution and transformation network on site.
* Provide support to site technicians, assist in breakdown resolution and remediation, and help deliver Site Efficiency Targets.
* Automation: Strong understanding of PLC systems (primarily Siemens based — S7-300, S7-400, and S7-1500) and HMIs (Siemens based); troubleshoot faulty code and identify external faults through software.
* Modify and upgrade automation systems; manage and oversee external specialists for advanced changes.
* Perform ad-hoc backups of automation systems; monitor and maintain automated backup systems (Lineview).
* Other automation systems include Safety PLCs, PLCs from other manufacturers (e.g., B&R), print and apply systems, and SCADA (Wonderware, Siemens, etc.). Knowledge in these systems is highly advantageous.
* Industrial Networking: Debug and resolve network problems on machine-level networks (e.g., Profinet) and site-wide networks (TCP/IP, TSN).
* Install and maintain new systems as delivered.
* Provide guidance and expertise to central project and engineering teams; contribute to audits and review project plans for installation feasibility within existing site layout and infrastructure.
Water Stewardship
* Gain knowledge of and manage the three boreholes and water process systems on site.
* Look for water-saving projects.
Facilities and Utilities
* Understand LP and HP compressors, boilers, and CO2 and N2 gas systems.
* Manage the Facilities & Utilities (F&U) Technician on site who covers the day-to-day running of the F&U.
