Clerical Officer - Mental Health/Addictions team
The role is to provide comprehensive Administrative and Clerical support to clinical and non‑clinical staff to ensure the smooth running of the service.

What we’ll need you to bring
* Educated to standard grade level or experience in a similar role
* Well‑developed interpersonal skills in customer care
* Excellent communication skills
* Good organisational and planning skills
* Understanding of a range of procedures and processes
* Ability to prioritise work and work on own initiative whilst under pressure
* Proficient IT skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft packages
* Ensuring confidentiality, diplomacy and discretion are maintained at all times
It would be great if you also have
* SVQ 2 in Business & Administration
* Previous experience working in a busy reception area
* Experience in an NHS clinic setting
* Previous experience of dealing with members of the public / delivery drivers / estates staff
* Working knowledge of NHS systems e.g. PECOS, SSTS, Trak Care, Room bookings systems
* Knowledge of NHS clinical appointment systems e.g. Trak
* Willingness to deal with the external site on an ad‑hoc basis (e.g. empty car park token machine, car park barrier issues)
* Willingness/flexibility to cover annual and sick leave if required

Location and Working Pattern
This role will be based in the Mental Health/Addictions team within HMP Shotts.
Working pattern: Monday to Friday 9.30 am to 2.30 pm.
