Practice Pharmacist (R1) (LW)
Organization: NHS Scotland — NHS Fife North East Fife, Stratheden
Hours: Full time (37 hours per week). Part time (minimum 28 hours) will be considered.
Overview
NHS Fife offers a fully invested primary care team where pharmacists support GPs in delivering polypharmacy reviews, medicines reconciliation, acute and repeat prescription requests, medication reviews and other duties in line with the GMS contract. The role provides an opportunity to fully utilise prescribing rights on a daily basis.
Responsibilities
* Work with GP practices as part of a multi‑professional team to optimise safe, quality, evidence‑based and cost‑effective use of medicines.
* Deliver polypharmacy and medicines reconciliation reviews.
* Respond to acute and repeat prescription requests.
* Conduct medication reviews.
* Support medication management and safe prescribing within the team.
* Collaborate with fellow pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and medicines management support workers.
Qualifications and Experience
* Qualified registered pharmacist (UK registration preferred).
* Experience in primary care desirable but not essential; training will be provided.
* Demonstrated commitment to good clinical practice and patient safety.
* Strong teamwork and independent working skills.
* Legal right to work in the UK; sponsorship may be considered if conditions met.
* Member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme prior to appointment.
