Working closely with the School Office Manager and reporting to the School Business Manager and senior leadership team, you will play a key role in managing the school's day‑to‑day financial processes and supporting effective budget planning and monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage all day‑to‑day financial transactions, including purchase ledger and invoice processing
* Set up and maintain supplier accounts, place orders and track deliveries
* Process and reconcile payments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial procedures
* Booking trips, courses and events
* Assist with monthly payroll and reconciliations
* Support the preparation, setting and ongoing monitoring of the school's annual budget
* Assist with termly budget reviews, providing accurate financial information and analysis
* Respond to budget queries from staff and department leads
* Support financial reporting, audits and year‑end processes
Qualifications
* We are seeking a highly organised, proactive and detail‑oriented full time Finance Officer to join our busy and supportive school team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong financial and administrative skills who thrives in a fast‑paced environment., Experience in financial administration, bookkeeping or purchase ledger work (AAT or other accountancy qualification desirable)
* Strong numerical and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
* Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
* Good communication skills and confidence working with a range of stakeholders
* Experience in a school or public sector setting (desirable but not essential)
