Senior Midwife

We are looking for an experienced Midwife with a genuine interest in leadership and clinical excellence to join the senior team of coordinators and community team leaders. The role will predominantly coordinate the Maternity Unit, with a community role of Team Leader in either the Weymouth or Bridport Team.
Main duties
Coordinating the Maternity Service; being the most senior Midwife present in the hospital during nights and weekends; providing leadership for the community team.
Person Specification
Education, Qualifications & Training
* Registered midwife
* Degree and postgraduate diploma level qualifications or equivalent
* Evidence of CPD which includes clinical leadership and management
* Driving licence and access to a car
* Qualified as a non-medical prescriber
Knowledge & Experience
* Extensive post-registration experience as a band 6 midwife
* Evidence of clinical leadership
* Evidence of ability to practise as a proficient practitioner
Skills & Abilities
* Evidence of ability to maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, patients and families
* Evidence of an ability to manage time effectively
* Understanding of clinical governance and ability to assist in establishing systems
* Evidence of situational awareness
* Evidence of effective communication skills
* Evidence of effective organisational skills
* Evidence of how to motivate team members and promote good team working
* Evidence of professionalism and how to promote this in the clinical environment
UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) Sponsorship
The role is eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker Route, subject to meeting UKVI eligibility criteria.
Disclosure and Barring Service Check
The post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and requires a Disclosure to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
Pay
£49,387 to £56,515 a year pro rata per annum.
