Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Demolition Plant Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating heavy plant machinery to safely dismantle buildings, structures, and industrial sites. This role requires precision, adherence to safety protocols, and coordination with site teams to ensure efficient and environmentally responsible demolition. Many of our jobs are located around the country and, therefore, may involve staying away.
Responsibilities
* Operate and monitor demolition plant equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance.
* Dismantle structures using cutting tools, hydraulic breakers, and other specialized equipment
* Sort and separate materials for recycling, salvage, or disposal
* Conduct regular inspections of equipment to identify any issues or maintenance needs.
* Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines at all times.
* Collaborate with team members to achieve production targets and improve operational efficiency.
* Maintain accurate records of work completed and report any issues to supervisors
* Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge related to plant operations.
* Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the work area in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in construction or demolition
* Valid CCDO (Certificate of Competence for Demolition Operatives) card/NVQ Level 2 or higher in Construction Plant Operations or Demolition
* Valid Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) or equivalent certification
* Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to operate various types of machinery.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
* Good communication skills, with the ability to follow instructions clearly.
* Willingness to work shifts, including weekends if required.
