Contracts Manager / Contract Lead Retrofit & Decarbonisation (E.ON Framework)
Location: Teesside & North Yorkshire (Hybrid site, office & client‑facing).
Contract: Permanent (aligned to a 4‑year E.ON framework).
Salary: Up to £50,000 + car allowance + performance bonus.
About The Role
We are a growing M&E and retrofit contractor delivering insulation, heat pumps, solar PV and decarbonisation works under a long‑term E.ON framework agreement. We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager / Contract Lead to take full ownership of the E.ON contract. You will act as the primary technical, commercial and client interface, ensuring the framework is delivered compliantly, profitably and to the highest professional standard.
Key Responsibilities
* Contract & Client Management: act as primary contact with E.ON for contractual, technical and commercial matters; lead contract meetings, performance reviews and reporting; ensure compliance with framework requirements, KPIs and governance; manage variations, compensation events and scope changes.
* Commercial Management: full ownership of contract commercials including cost control, CVRs and forecasting; manage valuations, applications for payment, variations and final accounts; work closely with finance to ensure accurate invoicing and cash flow; protect margin and challenge scope creep.
* Technical & Compliance Oversight: provide technical leadership across PAS 2035 retrofit works including insulation, ASHPs and solar PV; ensure compliance with PAS 2035/2030, MCS, Building Regulations and E.ON standards; review designs, surveys, QA processes and technical documentation; act as escalation point for technical issues.
* Process & Governance: ensure robust contract processes including RAMS, design sign‑off, QA and handover; maintain audit readiness at all times; drive continuous improvement in reporting and delivery standards.
* Leadership & Collaboration: work collaboratively with Operations Managers and site teams; support technical and contractual decision‑making; mentor junior commercial or technical staff as required.
Essential About You
* Proven experience as a Contracts Manager / Contract Lead in retrofit, M&E or decarbonisation.
* Strong knowledge of PAS 2035 delivery.
* Experience managing public sector or social housing frameworks.
* Commercially astute with strong CVR, variation and final account experience.
* Technically competent across heat pumps, insulation and solar (oversight level).
* Confident managing senior clients and stakeholders.
Desirable
* Experience working with E.ON or similar energy suppliers.
* Knowledge of ECO, SHDF or LAD funding streams.
