The Opportunity
An established and forward-thinking secondary school in Leyland invites applications for the position of Music Teacher. We are seeking a talented and inspiring musician-educator who can nurture individual potential while contributing to a rich programme of concerts, recitals and co-curricular music.
The Role
The successful candidate will:
* Teach Music across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to contribute to KS5
* Deliver a balanced curriculum including performance, composition, listening and music theory
* Prepare pupils for GCSE and, where appropriate, A Level Music
* Contribute to the school’s extensive co-curricular programme
* Lead and/or accompany ensembles, choirs or chamber groups
* Support individual instrumentalists and performance scholars
* Play an active role in concerts, productions and whole-school events
Life at the school extends beyond the classroom, and the Music Teacher will be expected to contribute fully to the wider academic and pastoral community.

The Person
The successful applicant will demonstrate:
* A strong academic background in Music
* Qualified Teacher Status (or equivalent experience in the private sector)
* Confident practical musicianship and conducting/ensemble leadership skills
* Experience preparing pupils for public examinations
* The ability to inspire pupils of all abilities, from beginners to advanced performers
* A willingness to contribute to boarding and/or co-curricular life
* A clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities
